Senior Frontend Engineer

About this role

We're looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our team and help build the next generation of database design tools. You'll work on our React-based visual schema editor, collaborating closely with design and backend teams to create delightful user experiences.

What you'll do

• Lead the development of complex UI features in our React/TypeScript codebase
• Architect and implement real-time collaborative features using WebSockets and CRDTs
• Optimize performance for large-scale schema visualizations with thousands of nodes
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct thorough code reviews
• Collaborate with designers to implement pixel-perfect, accessible interfaces
• Contribute to technical decisions and help shape our frontend architecture
• Write comprehensive tests and documentation for your code

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience with React and TypeScript
• Strong understanding of state management (Redux, Zustand, or similar)
• Experience building real-time collaborative applications
• Proficiency in modern CSS (Tailwind, CSS-in-JS, or CSS Modules)
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a remote team
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Nice to have

• Experience with canvas-based rendering or visualization libraries (React Flow, D3.js)
• Background in database systems or developer tools
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Experience with WebGL or GPU-accelerated rendering
• Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools
